Solo Show: Rese Cohen “Transience”

Transience
I went on a class field trip in the fall of 2013, to a location in San Francisco where hundreds of bustling businesses were once housed in factories and similar type buildings.  These buildings dated back to the early to mid 20th century and of those that were left still standing, many were abandoned while a few businesses still struggled to survive; you knew it was only a matter of time before they too would be gone.  Looking at the area as a whole, the neglect was palpable, there was a sense of loss and sadness – yet, strangely, I found great beauty there.
